I love the newness of the beginning of a new year! It's always so full of possibilities and dreams--a fresh start.
As my lovely Anne-girl said in Anne of Green Gables, "...tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes in it..." I draw on that sentiment a lot. :)
Last week I was happily driving along, singing loudly to K-Love as I ran errand after errand, when my mind wandered to my goals for 2013. Did I want to make a resolution...again? Did I want to declare a theme for the year? I wasn't sure how I wanted to participate.
Then my heart whispered..."relationships". And I had a head-nodding moment, because that's truly what I want. More than time for my many (some off-the-wall) hobbies, more than time to write, more than fitness goals, or big, fluffy dreams, I want to deepen my relationships--with God, with my family, with my friends!
So, if I know you in any facet of my life...whether that's my day-to-day life, through the internet...if you're my closest friend or a distant acquaintance...look out! (Fair warning!) I'm coming for YOU and I'm a hugger! :)
2013 will be all about RELATIONSHIPS for me!!!

Back to regularly scheduled programming...
Thursday the 3rd, I'll be posting my very tardy review of Erica Vetsch's novel, along with a big surprise for one commenter! (Think "leftover goodies" from my Blog Bash!) Stay tuned.
Then on Friday the 4th, I'll announce my January Book Club title. I've heard good things...Yay!
Tell me: Are you ready for life to resume its normalcy, or do you prefer the rush, rush of the holidays? What is your word/phrase/goal for 2013?
A lovely, lovely goal, Lacie! My goal for 2013 is to soak up the moments with my 3 little ones. I know it's going to fly by so fast and I just want to enjoy it all (even when it's not easy) that is the biggest lesson I need to learn. :) Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteSoaking in kid moments is the best of the best, Joanne! Especially since it's remarkable how quickly we lose those moments. Happy New Year to you!!
DeleteBuilding relationship--with God, with other Christians, with family, with readers--is what's it's all about. Sounds like a terrific goal to me.
ReplyDeleteI'm so ready to pack up 2012 (even though it had fabulous blessings) and embrace 2013. I like normalcy. :) My word/theme for 2013 is freedom. Happy New Year, Lacie!
It's seems kinda silly that I have to put relationships on my "to do list" but if I'm not scheduled and intentional, life just disappears on me. :) Freedom...I love that thought! Hopping over to your blog to read more about your goal!
DeleteI posted twice yesterday and they never made it! Boo!
ReplyDeleteI'm super ready for hugs. Bring it. I am ready for normalcy. I'm not a fan of rush rush rush, but it seems that's what I was doing.
I posted my word today! Joy!
I love the theme 'Joy'. What a wonderful word, an inspiring goal...and all around perfection! Love that word so much, I named my daughter after it. ;) (Sorry you couldn't post yesterday...I wonder what's up...)
DeleteHappy New Year! I wish you many blessings this year.
ReplyDeleteMy word? I guess it is just plain and simply: God. Trying to make Him more of a focus, deepening my relationship with Him, spending more time with Him, growing deeper in faith.
